The TotalEnergies CAF Champions League resumes this Friday, setting the stage for a thrilling Sunday filled with eight captivating encounters in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

Following the official draw that sorted the 16 teams into their respective groups of four, the spotlight now shifts to the upcoming two-legged group matches, where teams will vie for a coveted spot in the knockout stages of the competition.

The action kicks off on Sunday afternoon with Modern Future hosting South African powerhouse SuperSport United in Egypt. SuperSport United, under the guidance of former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt, who steered them to the CAF Champions League final in 2021, will be aiming for a strong start to their campaign.

Simultaneously, a fixture unfolds in Tunis as Club Africain plays host to Ghana’s Dream FC, promising an intriguing battle on the pitch.

As the evening unfolds, Zamalek, winners of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2019, welcome Libyan side Abu Salem.

In Nigeria, Rivers United, the sole remaining representative of Nigerian football in this season’s CAF Inter-Club competition, will host Academica do Lobito of Angola in a late afternoon fixture. Academica do Lobito, eager to make a mark on the continental stage, poses a formidable challenge for Rivers United.

Meanwhile, in Congo, Diables Noirs and Stade Malien of Mali lock horns in another late afternoon tie, promising football enthusiasts an intense battle between two competitive sides.

Bringing the Super Sunday fixtures to a close are two compelling contests in the northern part of the continent. In Algeria, USM Alger welcomes Al Hilal Benghazi of Libya, a side that has showcased remarkable improvement in continental football in recent seasons.

The final fixture of the day unfolds in Morocco, featuring a north-versus-south clash as former champions RS Berkane welcome South African debutants Sekhukhune United. This encounter promises to be a highlight, pitting seasoned champions against ambitious newcomers.

As the continent braces for a footballing spectacle, the resumption of CAF Inter-Club competitions adds a layer of excitement to the global football calendar. The battles on the field will not only determine which clubs progress to the knockout stages but also showcase the rich tapestry of African football, where dreams are chased, and legends are born.
