Ugandan U-20 national team player John Paul Dembe has officially joined the Swedish Premier League team BK Hacken after an extensive period of trials with the club’s U-19 squad, spanning over four months.
Dembe confirmed the exciting news of his signing on a Friday, expressing his joy at this significant milestone in his football career.
His words were filled with enthusiasm as he stated, “I am very happy that after a lot of hard work and even participating in some friendly matches, I have signed a contract with BK Hacken. This is a very gratifying moment for me in my football journey.”
BK Hacken, who secured a commendable third-place finish in the 2023 Swedish Premier League, disclosed that they have secured Dembe’s services on a substantial four-year contract, acquiring him from Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC.
Dembe’s journey to Sweden marks a significant shift from his previous experiences in Uganda. He was particularly impressed by the club’s fantastic facilities and the overall positive environment at BK Hacken.
The Ugandan youngster initially caught the eye of the Swedish club after delivering an impressive performance for Uganda at the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Egypt, paving the way for this exciting new chapter in his burgeoning football career.
