The lush greens of Nyanza Golf Club in Kisumu played host to an exhilarating day of golf as players from far and wide gathered for the February Monthly Mug tournament over the weekend.
Among the competitors, Bhupa Shah emerged as the standout performer, clinching victory in the one-day tournament, affectionately dubbed the Valentine’s Mug, which celebrated both golfers born in February and couples immersed in the world of golf.
With skillful precision and unwavering determination, Bhupen Shah showcased his prowess on the course, securing the coveted Overall Net title with an impressive score of 67net. His exceptional performance earned him the admiration of fellow competitors and the title of champion in a tightly contested field.
Following closely behind Shah was Dr. Oburu Oginga, the esteemed Siaya Senator, who displayed his golfing prowess by clinching the Net Runner-up position with a commendable score of 68net.
The competition remained fierce as Linar Magero claimed the 2nd Net Runner-up spot with an equally impressive score of 68pts.
In the Gross category, Griffins Owino emerged victorious as the Gross Winner, carding a score of 85pts. David Omollo secured the Gross Runner-up position with a score of 88pts, while Tom Agumbi rounded off the podium as the Gross 2nd Runner-up with a score of 89pts.
