Having just concluded the CAF Futsal AFCON Morocco 2024, the spotlight now shifts to the global stage, with Morocco, Angola, and Libya poised to represent Africa at the FIFA Futsal World Cup™ in Uzbekistan.
Morocco, the undisputed champions of the African continent for the third consecutive time, will lead the charge. Their commanding 5-1 victory over Angola in the final, witnessed by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, solidified their status as a force to be reckoned with.
With their eyes set on surpassing their quarter-final finish in Lithuania in 2021, the Atlas Lions are determined to make their mark on the world stage.
Joining Morocco will be Angola, the runners-up of the AFCON tournament. Despite their group stage exit in the previous edition of the World Cup, Angola is eager to showcase their talent and prove their mettle on the international platform once again.
Rounding out the trio is Libya, the surprise package of the tournament. Their impressive performance, highlighted by a dramatic comeback against Egypt in the bronze medal match, earned them a ticket to Uzbekistan. With their resilience and determination, the Mediterranean Knights are ready to make waves and leave a lasting impression at the FIFA Futsal World Cup™.
As the countdown begins to the tournament scheduled from September 14 to October 6, 2024, all eyes will be on Morocco, Angola, and Libya as they embark on their journey to represent Africa and compete against the best futsal teams from around the globe.
