Ghana to face Ivory Coast in CAF Beach Soccer AFCON 2024 qualifiers

The road to the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations, Egypt 2024 has officially begun as the qualifiers fixtures were confirmed on Thursday, 13 June.

CAF conducted the official draw for the qualifiers, setting the stage for 14 nations to compete for a place in the prestigious tournament.

The qualifiers will take place over a two-legged format to determine the seven nations that will join the hosts, Egypt, at the finals this summer. The first leg of the qualifiers is scheduled between 19 – 21 July, with the second leg set to take place from 26 – 28 July.

Reigning African champions Senegal will start their campaign against Guinea, who are aiming to make their first appearance at the CAF Beach Soccer AFCON. Angola, also seeking their debut at the competition, will face off against two-time bronze medallists Morocco in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

Another exciting match-up features a West African duel between Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire, while Burundi and Malawi will clash in an East African battle for qualification.

Seychelles, the hosts of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup next year, will be looking to secure their spot in Egypt ahead of hosting the global event for the first time in Africa. They will face Mozambique, the hosts of the last CAF Beach Soccer AFCON, presenting a formidable challenge for the island nation.
