The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the dates for the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2024, set to take place from October 19 to 26 in the picturesque coastal city of Hurghada, Egypt.
This eagerly anticipated tournament will see eight teams, including the hosts Egypt, battle it out for the prestigious championship title.
The sixth edition of the tournament will feature teams from across the continent, with Morocco, Tanzania, Ghana, Mauritania, Mozambique, Malawi, and defending champions Senegal joining Egypt in the finals after successfully navigating a series of tough qualifiers.
For the tournament’s structure, the participating teams will be divided into two groups, each consisting of four teams. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals, where they will compete for a place in the final and the chance to be crowned champions.
Hurghada, a city renowned for its stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters along the Red Sea, will provide a breathtaking backdrop for the event.
Known as a popular tourist destination, this marks the second time Egypt will host the Beach Soccer AFCON, with the 2018 edition previously held in Sharm El-Sheikh.
All eyes will be on Senegal as they aim to extend their dominance in the competition. The West African giants have won the last four editions of the tournament, capturing titles in 2016, 2018, 2021, and 2022.
Senegal’s quest for a fifth consecutive title will be one of the main storylines as the tournament unfolds.
As excitement builds for what promises to be another exhilarating edition of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations, fans from across the continent will be eagerly awaiting more details, including the dates of the draw, which are expected to be announced soon.
With the Red Sea’s golden sands set to host Africa’s best beach soccer talent, the stage is set for a spectacular showcase of skill, passion, and competition in Hurghada this October.
