The long wait is over, and its all systems go as Kenyan riders return to the international stage this weekend in Marrakech, Morocco, for the highly anticipated Motocross of African Nations (MXOAN) Championship.
Kenya has enlisted a team of 17 riders for the fabled event scheduled for October 25- 27.
Neighbours Uganda have entrred a contingent of 27 riders in four categories.
Over 200 competitors from 10 nations, including South Africa, Kenya, and Zimbabwe, will take part in the prestigious event, the equivalent of the Africa Cup of Nations in football.
Leading the charge for Team Uganda is the defending MX2 Aftican Champion, Stav Orland.
During the 2023 edition of MXOAN in capetown, South Africa, Orland emerged the winner in all three heats in the MX2 category to clinch the overall title.
Even though Uganda finished a respectable fifth in the overall standings, Orland’s victory was a testament to his unyielding training regime and dedication.

In September, Ugandan and Kenyan riders received special training by FIM instructor Dearden Andre at Garuga/ Busika and Jamhuri Park, respectively, in preparation for the Marrakech MXOAN.
Zambia’s Veteran MX rider Dan Watson will be representing his country in Marrakech, brimming with confidence.
Meanwhile, South Africa will be defending their title in anticipation of an action-packed weekend filled with exciting races and warm hospitality from the host Federation in Morocco.
