The round of fixtures in Matchday 21 begins with Brentford taking on Manchester City at Brentford Community Stadium on the evening of Tuesday January 14, 2025.

Cameroonian forward Bryan Mbeumo is in scintillating form for the Bees this season, with 13 goals scored so far and three assists. And with this form comes transfer rumours, but his manager Thomas Frank is not taking it too seriously.

“In January? I would say good luck,” Frank says. “We love Bryan. He loves playing here. He has had a fantastic season, so nothing will happen.” Well, hopefully he won’t be eating his words come the end of the season…

Wednesday evening, January 15, 2025 brings the encounter between Everton and Aston Villa at Goodison Park. Senegalese attacking midfielder Iliman Ndiaye has brought something different to the Toffees and shares that he always knew he’d play in the Premier League.

“Personally for me, it is the best league in the world. Everyone dreams of being in the Premier League,” says Ndiaye. “It’s not easy to get to it. I know a lot of players whose aim was to play there but it hasn’t happened yet.”

The attacker will have to step it up and show the Villains what he’s made of with that being said. And also on Wednesday, the North London Derby will be taking place between long-time rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium.

Moving onto the evening of Thursday, January 16, 2025, Manchester United will host Southampton at Old Trafford as they look to escape the bottom half of the league table.

Young Ivorian sensation Amad Diallo has been great for the Red Devils and it only looks like it’s upwards for him from here. He has previously spoken about how he likes to play at United’s home stadium.

“The fans are back now, so I hope to score and I hope it’s a winner that I can celebrate with the supporters, because I like celebrating with them.”
