Mozambique head coach Chiquinho Conde has announced his final list of 25 players selected for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, unveiling a balanced squad that combines tournament experience with exciting new talent.
The Mambas, making their sixth appearance at Africa’s flagship competition, will look to progress beyond the group stage for the first time in their history.
Conde has retained the core of the team that featured at the last edition in Côte d’Ivoire, with 16 players returning for another continental campaign. They are joined by nine newcomers who will experience TotalEnergies CAF AFCON action for the first time.
Among the returning contingent are goalkeepers Ernani and Ivane Urrubal, along with seasoned defenders Mexer, Reinildo, Bruno Langa, Ifren Matola, Edmilson Dove and Nené.

In midfield, Guima, Alfons Amade, Dominguezand João Bonde maintain their roles at the heart of the team, while forwards Ratifo, Gildo, Geny Catamo and Witi continue to form the nucleus of Mozambique’s attacking options.
The squad welcomes nine players making their AFCON debuts.
Goalkeeper Kimiss Zavala earns his first tournament call-up, as do defenders Óscar Cherene, Diogo Calila and Chamboco.
Midfielders Kambala and Kenys Abdala, alongside forwards Melque, Faisal Bangal and Chamito, complete the list of new additions.
Forward Pepo is ruled out after sustaining a serious knee injury last week while playing in Portugal, while regular squad member Clésio has been omitted for technical reasons.
