The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has confirmed the procedures that will be used to determine the Quarter-finals, and Semi-finals of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2025/26 and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2025/26 ahead of Tuesday’s Draw.

Quarter-final draw procedures

For the quarter-final draw of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, CAF will use a multi-pot system.

Pot 1 contains the four runners-up from the group stage: RS Berkane, AS FAR (both Morocco), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) and Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia).

The four group winners are placed in separate pots by group: Pyramids FC (Group A) and Al Ahly FC both of Egypt (Group B), Sudan’s Al Hilal SC (Group C) and Stade Malien (Group D) from Mali.

The draw begins by selecting one team from the runners-up pot (Pot 1). CAF then draws one ball from each of the other three group-winner pots, excluding the pot that corresponds to the runners-up team’s own group, to ensure clubs from the same group cannot meet in the quarter-finals.

Those three possible opponents are placed into an empty pot (Pot 6), mixed, and one is drawn to confirm the quarter-final pairing. The same steps are repeated until all four quarter-finals are set. Importantly, runners-up will play the first leg at home.

For the semi-finals, one pot contains QF1, QF2, QF3 and QF4. The first two balls drawn face each other in Semi-final 1, with the first drawn hosting the first leg. The remaining two quarter-final winners form Semi-final 2 under the same home-leg principle.

The Draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup follows the same format.

Pot 1 contains the four group runners-up: Olympique Club de Safi (Morocco), AS Maniema Union (DR Congo), AS Otoho (Congo) and Al Masry SC (Egypt).
The four group winners are each allocated their own pot: Pot 2(Group A winners) contains USM Alger from Algeria, Pot 3 (Group B winners) contains Morocco’s Wydad AC, Pot 4 (Group C winners) contains CR Belouizdad from Algeria and Pot 5 (Group D winners) contains Egypt’s Zamalek SC
