Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) ladies’ volleyball team has unveiled the travelling squad for the upcoming CAVB Africa Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Cairo, Egypt, scheduled to take place from 13th to 24th April 2026.

The team consists of 14 players, selected based on performance and discipline, bringing together a strong balance of experience and emerging talent.

Leading the team in the setter positions are Emmaculate Nekesa and Faith Imodiah, while Murambi Noel and Zeddy Cheruto will take on the opposite roles. The outside hitters include Leonida Kasaya, Akinyi Milka, Valentine Chemutai, and Sally Sikutwa, providing the squad with speed and versatility.

Anchoring the middle are Ekaru Gladys, Sinaida Yvonne, Serena Busolo, and Mariana Sokoiyo, bringing strength and stability at the net. Completing the team are the liberos, Celestine Nyongesa and Sifuna Betty, tasked with defensive coverage and ensuring the team’s resilience on the court.

The squad was revealed after the conclusion weeklong training at their Nairobi camp, where the team also underwent comprehensive functional screening to reaffirm the team’s preparedness to exude high-performance standards during the continental showdown.

Speaking after the final training session, Geoffrey Omondi, the team’s head coach, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness for the tournament, saying science-backed training was key to enabling the team to achieve peak performance.

“Our team is ready. Each player has shown dedication, discipline, and has worked tirelessly to reach this level,” Omondi said. “With the support of modern performance assessments and targeted training, we are confident in our ability to bring the trophy home.”

The screening, conducted by Blazers Performance Team, helped to identify players who are marginally below optimal benchmarks, enabling targeted interventions to address specific gaps. The players also received guidance on body functionality, recovery, and optimal performance habits.

Established in 1984, the KPC ladies’ volleyball team competes in the local Kenya Volleyball Federation League as well as in African competitions, including the Club Championships. The team boasts a wealth of talent, with its players representing Kenya as part of the Malkia Strikers in various international competitions.
