Kenya women’s national team, Harambee Starlets, under coach Beldine Odemba secured a 2-0 victory against India in their FIFA Series fixture at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi, on Sunday, 11 April 2026.

Harambee Starlets needed a goal in either half to win the fixture and will now face Australia. Martha Amunyolete, and Terry Engesha scored for the Starlets in the entertaining contest.

Going into the match, Harambee Starlets had played against Benin and the Ivory Coast in friendly matches in their build-up to the Africa Cup of Nations, which was postponed.

Harambee Starlets lost 2-0 to Benin before a 1-0 defeat to the Ivorians at the Alassane Ouattara Ebimpe Olympic Stadium in Abidjan.

The tournament is serving as part of Harambee Starlets’ preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON 2026), set to be held in Morocco from July 25 to August 16.

Australia put five past Malawi to book spot in the final

Earlier in the day, Australia defeated Malawi 5-0 to begin the FIFA Series 2026 on a high note. Emily van Egmond and Sam Kerr were on the scoresheet in the first half before Alex Chidiac, Holly McNamara and Leticia McKenna made it five.

The Scorchers gradually settled into the match, showing signs of improvement and pushing forward in search of an equaliser. Just before halftime, Malawi came close through a Rose Kabzere free-kick, which was saved, before Vanessa Chikupila’s rebound was blocked. However, Australia doubled their lead in the 41st minute to go into the break 2-0 up.

Malawi continued to fight in the second half, with Chikupila testing the goalkeeper from distance in the 53rd minute, but her effort was comfortably handled.

Australia extended their lead with further goals in the 60th, 86th and 90+2 minutes, punishing defensive lapses to seal a commanding victory. Following the result, the Scorchers will face India in the third-place playoff on Wednesday.

Matildas will play the final of the FIFA Series against Kenya’s Harambee Starlets on 15 April 15 at Nyayo Stadium in Kenya.
