The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced on Tuesday the draw for the qualifying tournaments for the 2026 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Germany.
Defending champion the United States has been placed in the tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico, alongside Spain and Italy. Meanwhile, runner-up China will host its qualifying matches in Wuhan against Belgium and Brazil.
The remaining two qualifying tournaments are set to be held in Lyon-Villeurbanne, France, and Istanbul, Türkiye, from March 11 to 17, 2026.
The World Cup is scheduled for September 4 to 13, 2026, in Berlin, Germany, featuring 16 teams competing for the title.
The draw was conducted by Marie Guelich, a standout player for the Germany national team, and Endy Miyem, former captain of the France national team.
