League leaders Real Madrid could only manage a 0-0 draw when they visited Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. Just behind the top two sit Villarreal CF and Atlético de Madrid, who both won in Matchday 12. El Submarino Amarillo overcame RCD Espanyol 2-0 on the road, while Atleti defeated Levante UD 3-1 in the Spanish capital. It means Villarreal CF are just five points off first place and Atlético de Madrid are just six points behind their city rivals Real Madrid.
Griezmann scores his 200th LALIGA EA SPORTS goal
Antoine Griezmann came off the bench in Atlético de Madrid’s victory over Levante UD to score twice, and the Frenchman has now hit the milestone of 200 goals in LALIGA EA SPORTS. He is just the 11th player to reach that number.
Girona FC move off the bottom of the table
A goal from Viktor Tsygankov earned Girona FC a 1-0 victory over Deportivo Alavés this weekend, a result which moves the Catalan side off the bottom spot in LALIGA EA SPORTS. They’re still inside the relegation zone, but 20th place is now occupied by Real Oviedo, who lost 1-0 at Athletic Club to a spectacular Nico Williams goal.
Muriqi continues to lead RCD Mallorca to safety
RCD Mallorca pulled further away from the relegation zone with a 1-0 win when Getafe CF came to town, and it was Vedat Muriqi who scored once again for the islanders. The centre-forward now has six goals this league campaign, having netted half of all his team’s goals so far this season.
