Mohamed Salah, captain of the Egypt national team and Liverpool star, has broken into a prestigious global list featuring some of the greatest players in football history, following his goal against Ivory Coast in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025).
The Pharaohs secured a 3-2 victory over the Elephants to keep their dream of an eighth AFCON title alive. Salah played a decisive role in the win, scoring one goal and providing an assist.
After that contribution, Salah has joined the list of the fastest 10 players to reach 100 goal contributions (goals + assists) with their national teams. The list, published by Transfermarkt, places the Egyptian star third overall, behind only Brazilian stars Pelé and Neymar.
