East Africa’s premier mixed martial arts promotion, ANZA MMA, returned for the second time this year with its seventh event on Thursday, 26 March 2026, at The Alchemist, Nairobi. The event delivered an action-packed night of amateur mixed martial arts, showcasing some of East Africa’s most exciting rising talent.
Staying true to its mission of developing the next generation of fighters, ANZA MMA 007 featured a dynamic preliminary card that brought together a majority of athletes from across Kenya, many of whom stepped into the cage for the very first time. Ten fighters made their amateur debut on the card.
Headlining the night was Hassan Wasswa Muhammed of Nairobi Jiu-Jitsu Academy, who secured a dominant TKO victory over Maina Morgan of Shadow Strikers in the bantamweight main event, cementing his position as one of the division’s standout fighters. The other Kenyan standout on the main card was Samuel Laurian of Nairobi Jiu-Jitsu Academy, who delivered a composed performance to defeat Brayan Ray via verbal tap in a closely contested featherweight bout.

The co-main event featured a high-intensity featherweight clash between Dickson Aomo of Diani Fight Club and Hamza Fahim of Mombasa Sharks. Hamza Fahim emerged victorious with an impressive submission win via rear naked choke, showcasing his grappling pedigree and announcing himself as a serious contender in the division.
Also featured on the main card was Bobby Kamande of Chanuka Self-Defense, who earned a hard-fought decision victory over Lwando Matthew in a competitive bantamweight matchup that kept fans engaged throughout.
Earlier in the night, the preliminary card delivered equally compelling action, with standout performances including Wayne Achoki’s decision win over Hashim Sefu, Evans Kaburia’s third-round referee stoppage against Felix Tole, and Chris Mutea’s victory over Guraib Rukwaro. Ray Tsuma secured a TKO win against Josiah Aoncha, while Shadrack Otieno claimed a decision victory over Alex Njathi. In the welterweight division, Amos Eboso defeated Brazil’s Augusto Kohn via TKO in a strong showing.

Unlike ANZA MMA 006, which drew fighters from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and DRC, the organisers opted to feature predominantly Kenyan talent from across the country, including athletes travelling from Kisii, Kakamega, Mombasa, Diani, and multiple gyms across Nairobi, highlighting the rapid growth of the domestic amateur MMA scene.
Since its launch, ANZA MMA has become the leading platform for amateur mixed martial arts in East Africa, providing fighters with a professional sports environment and the opportunity to regularly compete in front of live audiences.
Building on the momentum of its previous season, the 2026 edition continues to strengthen the region’s competitive MMA scene while serving as a key platform for developing the next generation of African fighters and preparing them for regional and international competition.
ANZA MMA is East Africa’s leading amateur mixed martial arts promotion, committed to developing local talent and elevating the sport across the region through professionally organised, high-level competitive events. In 2025, KO Fight Night by ANZA MMA made history by delivering Kenya’s first-ever professionally sanctioned mixed martial arts event, bringing together top professional fighters from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania for a landmark night of elite competition and world-class production, setting a new benchmark for Kenyan combat sports.
