The race for knockout places at the African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship intensified in Cairo on Wednesday, with a series of commanding performances highlighting Day Three action across all pools.

Several title contenders underlined their credentials with straight-set victories, as the tournament begins to take shape heading into a crucial fourth day.

In Pool A, Cameroon’s MKO cruised past Ethiopia’s NAL with a comfortable 3-0 win (25-19, 25-13, 25-17), maintaining their push for a top finish.

Pool B saw Senegal’s SOC register an impressive 3-1 victory over Burundi’s GLC. After taking the first two sets, SOC weathered a brief fightback before closing out the match (25-19, 25-21, 25-22, 25-15). Kenya’s Kenya Pipeline Company Volleyball Club continued their strong run, sweeping aside DR Congo’s VCL in straight sets (25-12, 25-12, 25-17) to strengthen their position in the group.

Pool C produced more dominant displays, with Tunisia’s CFC easing past DR Congo’s VLA 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-16). Kenya’s DCI also impressed, dispatching Uganda’s KCC in straight sets (25-20, 25-20, 25-16) to stay firmly in contention.

In Pool D, Kenya’s Kenya Commercial Bank Women’s Volleyball Club delivered a composed performance to defeat Nigeria’s VPC 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-19), rounding off a day dominated by clinical, no-nonsense victories.

With most matches decided in straight sets, Day Three signalled a clear separation between early frontrunners and teams still searching for rhythm, as the battle for qualification places heats up.

Attention now shifts to Day Four, where several high-stakes fixtures could prove decisive in determining the knockout lineup.
