Kenya’s rugby calendar is set to burst into action with the confirmation of the 2024 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit schedule, promising thrilling rugby action across six exciting tournaments.
The circuit kicks off in the heart of Nairobi with the prestigious Christie Sevens, scheduled to take place on July 27th and 28th at the RFUEA Ground. This iconic event sets the stage for an exhilarating series of fast-paced rugby clashes.
Following the opener, attention shifts to Kakamega for the newly introduced Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) 7s, which replaces the Tisap 7s. Teams will battle it out at the Kakamega Showground on August 3rd and 4th, showcasing top-tier sevens rugby talent.
After a brief hiatus, the action resumes in Kisumu for the Dala Sevens on August 17th and 18th, promising an electrifying atmosphere at the Mamboleo Showground. The competition then moves to a venue yet to be confirmed for the George Mwangi Kabeberi Memorial Sevens on August 24th and 25th.
As September unfolds, rugby fever hits Mombasa for the Driftwood Sevens on September 7th and 8th at the Mombasa Sports Club. The circuit culminates in Nakuru with the highly anticipated Prinsloo Sevens on September 14th and 15th, hosted at the Nakuru Athletic Club.
This structured tournament series serves as a platform for Kenya’s top rugby sevens teams to showcase their skills and compete for the prestigious SportPesa National Sevens Circuit title.
Teams will accumulate points based on their performance in each tournament, ultimately determining the circuit’s overall champion.
