The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced Unilever personal care brands as the latest Official Sponsors of the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 and TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024.
This partnership marks Unilever’s entry as the exclusive ‘Personal Care consumer goods partner’ for both tournaments, reinforcing its commitment to football initiatives across Africa.
Unilever, a global giant in Beauty & Wellbeing, Personal Care, Home Care, Nutrition, and Ice Cream products, boasts a presence in over 190 countries.
The collaboration with CAF was facilitated by Unilever International, the company’s Global Business Unit, working closely with Unilever’s Personal Care Business Group.
By sponsoring the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023, Unilever is extending its longstanding association with major football events in Africa and worldwide.
The company’s personal care brands, including Rexona (also known as Shield, Sure), Dove, Dove Men+Care, and Axe, will be prominently featured as official sponsors of the prestigious tournament, set to kick off on 13 January.
The competition is anticipated to attract a vast audience, with over 800 million people worldwide expected to tune in to witness the captivating moments of Africa’s premier football celebration.
The TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2024 is scheduled to take place in the summer of 2024 in Morocco, with specific dates yet to be announced.
Unilever’s partnership extends to this event as well, demonstrating their commitment to supporting women’s football on the continent.
CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, expressed his satisfaction with the growing list of sponsors, emphasizing the contribution of such partnerships to making CAF competitions and African football globally competitive and appealing.
