Morocco’s Atlas lions roar louder with a third consecutive Futsal AFCON title

Date:

The Atlas Lions of Morocco roared to a record-equalling third consecutive CAF Futsal AFCON title, sweeping past Angola in a mesmerizing 5-1 victory that sent shockwaves through the packed Prince Moulay Abdellah Hall.

From the first whistle, it was evident that Morocco meant business. With the thunderous cheers of their supporters echoing through the arena, they surged forward with purpose. Soufiane El Mesrar and Soufian Charraoui led the charge, probing the Angolan defense with relentless attacks.

Their persistence paid off just six minutes into the contest when Soufiane Borite, the FC Kemi dynamo, capitalized on a pinpoint cross from Raiss El Fenni to put Morocco ahead, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

But Angola, the resilient Sable Antelopes, refused to back down. Aderito Santo stunned the Moroccan faithful with a composed finish, restoring parity and setting the stage for a pulsating encounter.

However, the Atlas Lions were not to be denied. With halftime looming, Idriss Raiss El Fenni seized the moment, unleashing a blistering strike to put Morocco back in front, igniting jubilant celebrations among the home supporters.

As the second half unfolded, the Moroccan captain, El Mesrar, further asserted his team’s dominance, combining brilliantly with Bilal Fenni to extend their lead and leave Angola reeling.

But Morocco wasn’t finished yet. With time winding down, Anas El Ayyane and Bilal Bakkali delivered the knockout blows, their goals sealing a resounding victory and etching their names into the annals of Futsal history.

With the final whistle, the Prince Moulay Abdellah Hall erupted in jubilation as Morocco celebrated their remarkable achievement, joining Egypt as the only nations to claim three Futsal AFCON titles.

As the confetti rained down, thoughts turned to the future. With their triumph securing a coveted spot at the FIFA Futsal World Cup, Morocco now sets its sights on Uzbekistan, ready to showcase their talent on the global stage once more.
