Emerse Fae revamps coaching team for Cote d’Ivoire’s World Cup dream

Date:

Cote d’Ivoire’s national football team, the Elephants, are gearing up for a new era under the astute guidance of head coach Emerse Fae. With eyes set on the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup, Fae has orchestrated a significant reshuffle within the team’s backroom staff, signaling a bold stride toward continued success.

One of the notable additions to the coaching setup is Gerard Gnahouan, a revered figure in Ivorian football, who assumes the role of goalkeeping coach. With a wealth of experience garnered from his playing days and coaching stints, including his tenure at French Ligue 2 outfit Sochaux, Gnahouan brings a blend of expertise and passion to nurture the talents of the Elephants’ custodians.

Joining Gnahouan is Moroccan tactician Samir Anba, entrusted with the responsibility of enhancing the team’s fitness levels. Anba’s background, honed through his tenure with French club Nice and Morocco’s Under-17s, underscores his capability to fine-tune the physical prowess of the Ivorian squad, ensuring they are primed for the challenges that lie ahead.

Adding a technological edge to the coaching setup is Jeremy Antonio, appointed as the video analyst. With prior experience alongside Fae at Clermont, Antonio’s proficiency in dissecting game footage and providing insightful analysis serves as a valuable asset in strategizing and preparing the team for the rigors of top-tier competition.

As Fae meticulously assembles his team of mentors, the Ivorian football fraternity eagerly anticipates the dawn of a new chapter. With expectations soaring high, fueled by their recent continental conquest, the Elephants stand poised to continue their march towards glory.

With crucial qualifiers looming on the horizon, the revamped backroom staff faces a daunting task, but their collective resolve and expertise instill confidence that Cote d’Ivoire will navigate the challenges ahead with finesse and determination.
