Arsenal will be opening up the round of quarterfinal fixtures when they take on Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on the evening of Wednesday 18 December. It’s been a while since the Gunners go their hands on a trophy, so they’ll be keen on making this match count.

Malian midfielder Cheick Doucoure is still getting back on his feet since he was injured. His coach Oliver Glasner is in no hurry to put him under pressure, admitting that it’s going to take time before the player is back to his best.

“He will get all the time and all the support. He’s a great player and a great guy,” says Glasner. “It will happen. I don’t know when, but we will see the best Cheick Doucoure we have seen. I want a better one that what he has been.”

Other matches on Wednesday will see Newcastle go up against Brentford and Southampton lock horns with Arne Slot’s impressive Liverpool squad.

Thursday, 19 December brings the mouth-watering clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United set to be played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs will be targeting better results in the cup this time around as they’d surely love to finally get their hands on some silverware for the first time in a very long while. Meanwhile, Mali international Yves Bissouma is blaming himself for the Lily Whites’ disappointing 4-3 loss to Chelsea.

“I’m so sad for that mistake. It’s burning me because we lost the game today from this mistake,” Bissouma said. “I feel sorry for my teammates, staff and fans, I take all the responsibility for that one.”

Perhaps the Carabao Cup match against the Red Devils will be Bissouma’s chance to redeem himself? Find out with GOtv if he’ll get back on track and focus on getting Spurs to their best!
