As LALIGA enters the business end of the season, yet another explosive weekend awaits Spanish club football fans this weekend.
Clubs from the cities of Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville will face off amongst each other, with Real Madrid vs Valencia CF, FC Barcelona vs Real Betis and Sevilla FC vs Atlético de Madrid.

Two more clubs from these cities kick off the matchday, with Rayo Vallecano hosting RCD Espanyol in Vallecas on Friday night. It’s a crucial game for both teams, although for quite different reasons as Rayo Vallecano are hoping to remain inside the European positions while the Catalan club want to build up a gap to the relegation zone.
Four games follow on Saturday, starting with Girona FC vs Deportivo Alavés at the Estadi Montilivi. When these sides faced off earlier in the season, a stoppage-time goal from Jhon Solís earned Girona FC all three points, and the Catalan outfit will hope for another victory this time around.

At 16:15 CEST on Saturday, Real Madrid have a crucial game at the Bernabéu as Valencia CF come to town. Having reached the Copa del Rey final in midweek, Los Blancos’ dreams of a treble are still alive, but they have work to do in LALIGA EA SPORTS and know they need to take all three points against Los Che.
In the next game, RC Celta make the trip to the Balearic Islands to challenge RCD Mallorca, a pivotal game in the European race given that these two clubs enter this matchday level on 40 points and in eighth and ninth position in the table.

The action then moves to the Estadi Olímpic, where the two most in-form teams in LALIGA EA SPORTS face off in FC Barcelona and Real Betis. The Catalans have a winning streak of nine league victories in a row right now, while Los Verdiblancos have won six on the bounce. As such, it’ll be a fascinating heavyweight clash on Saturday night.

UD Las Palmas vs Real Sociedad is the first of Sunday’s games, and it’s an especially important one for the Canary Islanders. Still without a league win in 2025, UD Las Palmas sit second bottom and desperately need a three-point haul.

Next follows an intriguing duel between Sevilla FC and Atlético de Madrid, two historic clubs who produced an absolute thriller earlier in the season. It was a back-and-forth duel which eventually ended 4-3 to Atleti, with Antoine Griezmann scoring a 94th-minute winner.

Real Valladolid vs Getafe CF is the next game of the matchday, with the visitors hoping for a win to pull themselves back into the European race. With Real Valladolid still rock bottom and having lost nine of their past 10, it is a good opportunity for Los Azulones.

On Sunday night, there is a significant match in the race to qualify for the Champions League, with fifth-placed Villarreal CF taking on fourth-placed Athletic Club. The difference between these two clubs currently stands at six points, so a Villarreal CF win would truly shake up the race for the top four.
The final game of the matchday comes on Monday night, and it’s a big one for CD Leganés. The Madrid side are currently third-bottom and inside the relegation zone, so their Matchday 30 home game against CA Osasuna is both a great opportunity and a pressure moment of the season. The Estadio de Butarque should be packed for this one.
