MultiChoice Kenya celebrates FIFA World Cup kickoff match viewing event in Nairobi

The FIFA World Cup got underway on Friday June 12, 2026, and football enthusiasts gathered at The Local Production Kenya Grounds for MultiChoice Kenya’s official opening match viewing party, it marked the start of a month-long celebration of the world’s most beloved sport.

Fans turned out in large numbers to watch the tournament opener between Mexico and South Africa, with Mexico securing a 2-0 victory. Beyond the result, the event captured the spirit that makes the FIFA World Cup one of the most celebrated sporting spectacles globally. Friends, families, partners, and football lovers came together to share in the excitement, exchange views on the action unfolding on the pitch, and celebrate the return of football’s biggest tournament.
