The undefeated World Boxing Council super middleweight champion, Christian Mbilli, is fully convinced that he is going through the best moment of his professional career to defend his crown against Mexican Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Ahead of the highly anticipated clash they will hold this coming 12 September 2026, the devastating Cameroonian fighter launched a warning that promises to completely ignite the 168-pound division in one of the most attractive boxing dates of the year.

Mbilli made it clear that he will not change at all the aggressive and high-pressure style that has catapulted him to the top of international boxing.

During an interview granted to the Mr. Verzace Podcast, the African fighter assured that he will look to suffocate the Tapatios native with an intense pace from the very first bell.

“I am not going to change anything. I am going to throw punches from the first second to the last second of the fight, and I hope he is ready, because it will be an amazing fight for him,” declared Mbilli, whose reputation was consolidated after starring against Lester Martinez in one of the most memorable bouts of last year.

The champion added that his strategy will be based on increasing the volume of punishment without neglecting his defense: “I am going to put on more pressure, more combinations, but I am also going to work on my defense.”

For Mbilli, the factor of physical wear and tear accumulated throughout Canelo’s career could play a decisive role in September.

“He started boxing at a very young age. Now he has a lot of fights, but I think his performance has been dropping, although he is still very dangerous,” analyzed the Cameroonian with respect but without fear.

Confident in his physical faculties and his great boxing momentum, the challenger firmly sentenced the fate of the upcoming September clash: “I think it is the perfect time for me to defeat him. I am in my prime and I am going to take advantage of it.”
