Date:

Double Gameweek 24 is perhaps the biggest game on the Fantasy Premier League schedule, and Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Trent Alexander-Arnold lead the charge. It’s the perfect time to get your FPL side motoring, and to rack up some massive points. So how do you make the most of this behemoth week? Read on to see the dream team selection, the strategies, and how to earn the most points this week.

How to use the new Fantasy Chip: A complete guide

Have you ever dreamed of bringing in big-name managers like Pep Guardiola or Mikel Arteta into your Fantasy Premier League squad? Well, your dream has just come true with the introduction of the new Assistant Manager chip (formerly also knows as the Mystery Chip). This chip allows you to earn points from a Premier League manager of your choice based on their team’s results, including wins, draws, goals, and clean sheets.

The Assistant Manager chip is available now and can be activated at any point throughout the season. Make sure your Fantasy Premier League app is up-to-date to use it, and read on to find out how to maximize your points.

How to use the Assistant Manager chip

Once activated, the Assistant Manager chip enables you to select a manager from the Premier League. You’ll score points according to the form of the manager’s club over three successive Gameweeks. Keep in mind that activating the chip won’t cost a free transfer but will require a transfer to change your assistant manager halfway through the three-week window.

Key points to remember

  • You can play only one chip per Gameweek.
  • The chip lasts for three Gameweeks.
  • If the manager departs his club, your points carry on according to the performance of his initial team.

Scoring points with the Assistant Manager chip

You score points based on the following criteria:

  • Team win: 6 points
  • Team draw: 3 points
  • Goal scored by team: 1 point per goal
  • Clean sheet from team: 2 points
  • Table bonus: If your chosen manager faces a team ranked at least five places higher than theirs in the table at the start of the Gameweek, you get an extra 10 points for a win (16 total) or 5 points for a draw (8 total).

How to choose your Assistant Manager

You can choose a manager from any Premier League club, and you’ll get the chance to earn points from their team’s wins, goals, and clean sheets.

  • Top clubs like Liverpool’s Arne Slot (£1.5m) will be fancied to earn points from wins, goals, and clean sheets against favorable fixtures.
  • Or you can play risky, high-reward picks such as a manager like Leicester’s Ruud Van Nistelrooy (£0.5m), with more difficult opposition that can yield more points with the table bonus.

Key players for Double Gameweek 24

FORMATION: 3:4:3

GOALKEEPER: Jordan Pickford
Everton Shot Stopper With two home games against Leicester City (H) and Liverpool (H), Pickford is the favourite goalkeeping pick for DGW24. He’s been Everton’s star man, and if they can keep their defense solid, he’s due another good FPL return.

DEF: Trent Alexander Arnold
Attack and Defense Alexander-Arnold has been brilliant in recent away matches, combining goals, assists, clean sheets, and bonus points. He’s a versatile choice, capable of contributing both defensively and offensively. Don’t miss out on his potential for huge returns.

DEF: Lewis Hall
Newcastle’s Secret Weapon Hall has been scoring points at home, adding assists, clean sheets, and bonus points. Facing Fulham at St. James’ Park, another dominant performance is anticipated for this rising star.

DEF: Nikola Milenkovic
The centre-back has helped Nottingham Forest produce nine clean sheets this season, ranking joint-top with Liverpool. Milenkovic also boasts a huge threat from set-pieces ahead of the home match against Brighton & Hove Albion – his 17 headed shots are more than any other defender in 2024/25 Fantasy.

MID: Anthony Elanga
The Forest winger has blanked only once across his last four home matches thanks to his all-round attacking potential. Elanga has two goals, an assist and 26 points over those encounters.

MID: Mohamed Salah – CAPTAIN
Salah is undoubtedly the focal point for many FPL managers. With Liverpool facing AFC Bournemouth (A) and Everton (A), Salah is expected to rack up the points, making him the go-to captain choice for the week. He’s been on fire in away games this season, and this could be your golden opportunity to captain him for maximum returns.

MID: Bryan Mbeumo
The Cameroon midfielder has not been in this team for three weeks but he is not a player you can leave out for long. He’s Salah-light – his team’s talisman, is on penalties, is consistent and loves a double-digit haul. Home to leaky Tottenham is too juicy a match to pass up.

MID: Cole Palmer
You know what you are getting with the England playmaker at this point and it is hard to ignore him in a home game against any team.

FWD: Alexander Isak
Will Isak get to 30 league goals this season? He has 15 games to score 13 times. Will he ever leave the team of the week line-up? Well he has Manchester City and Liverpool away coming up, so there will be a choice to be made then – but for now he is the second name on the team sheet after Salah.

FWD: Ilman Ndiaye
Ndiaye is the only Everton attacking option worth signing. He is a decent budget enabler who could sit on your bench for the longer term and, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin presumably injured, he will be on penalties. You would hope Everton will score a few against Leicester and sneak a goal in the Merseyside derby.

FWD: Cody Gakpo
Gakpo’s form has been undeniable, and with 790,000+ new owners flocking to get him into their squads, you should consider bringing him in ASAP. He’s been involved in seven goals in Liverpool’s last 11 matches and is in prime position to keep the momentum going in DGW24.

Get set for success

With these tips, player selections, and strategies, you’re ready to make the best out of Double Gameweek 24. Don’t hesitate to play your chips wisely and aim for the players with the highest potential to provide you with massive returns!
