The Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (YOGOC) has officially launched ticket sales for Dakar 2026, offering the public the opportunity to experience the first Olympic event to be held on the African continent.
Scheduled to take place from 31 October to 13 November 2026, the Youth Olympic Games will bring together 2,700 athletes across 35 disciplines, comprising 25 competitive sports and 10 participatory sports.A total of 964,815 tickets will be made available, including more than 300,000 as part of a wide-ranging social ticketing programme, aimed in particular at young people, schools, associations and sports clubs.
A two-stage opening
From Thursday 6 August 2026, Visa cardholders will enjoy priority access to the official ticket office as part of a pre-sale period running until Sunday 9 August.
Tickets will then go on general sale from Monday 10 August 2026.This new stage in the countdown to Dakar 2026 confirms the COJOJ’s commitment to enabling as many people as possible to take part in this historic celebration. In recognition of the long-standing partnership between Visa and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Visa is the official payment method for the Games.
A ticketing system accessible to everyone
Designed to reflect the inclusive vision of Dakar 2026, the ticketing system has been devised to enable as many people as possible to experience the Games in an accessible manner.
Tickets will be allocated across the three competition hubs:
- 458,486 tickets for Dakar
- 341,457 tickets for Diamniadio
- 164,872 tickets for Saly
This ticketing policy reflects Dakar 2026’s ambition to make the Games a popular, unifying and accessible event, true to the Olympic values and the legacy they will leave in Senegal and across the African continent. As part of this ticketing scheme open to the general public, more than 300,000 solidarity tickets will enable thousands of young people, school pupils, organisations and sports clubs to attend the competitions and fully experience this historic Olympic celebration.
Prices designed to suit everyone
Tickets will be available on the official Dakar 2026 ticketing platform, offering a simple, quick and secure purchasing process:
The ticketing policy has been designed to enable as many people as possible to experience the Games.
Tickets for the competitions will be available from 1,000 FCFA, whilst the Day Pass, available for Saly, priced from 1,500 FCFA, will allow spectators to attend several competitions in a single day.
The Fan Zones will be free of charge.
Tickets for the opening ceremony will be available from:
- 2,000 FCFA for people with reduced mobility
- 5,000 FCFA for Category B
- 4,000 FCFA for Category C
These deliberately affordable prices are designed to enable families, young people, sports enthusiasts and visitors to fully experience the first Olympic Games to be held on the African continent. To ensure fair access for as many people as possible, purchase limits of 10 or 16 tickets have been set depending on the session, thereby enabling more spectators to enjoy the Games.

We have opted for an accessible ticketing system so that everyone can experience this great celebration of sport, youth and togetherness. Dakar 2026 will be a popular event, and we want every Senegalese citizen and every visitor to feel fully involved.”
Much more than just a sporting event, Dakar 2026 will be a grand celebration of youth, sport and culture. Spread across eight venues in Dakar, Diamniadio and Saly, the Games will feature 35 sports, cultural events, festive areas and a host of experiences open to all.
With the launch of this ticketing scheme, Dakar 2026 is taking another step forward in its preparations and reaffirming its ambition: to enable as many people as possible to take part in the first Olympic Games to be held on the African continent.

The Dakar 2026 YOG will be the first Olympic sporting event held in Africa, marking an important milestone for the continent. More than just a sporting competition, Dakar 2026 will be an opportunity to showcase Senegal’s cultural richness and Africa’s growing role in the Olympic Movement. By celebrating the continent’s diversity and potential, Dakar 2026 aims to inspire and serve as a benchmark for future Youth Olympic Games hosts.
The forth Summer YOG will also serve as a platform for exchange, allowing the world’s top young athletes to discover “Teranga” — the Wolof word embodying the country’s unique spirit of warm welcome, respect and hospitality — while promoting Olympic values among young people in Senegal and across the African continent. Teranga is deeply rooted in the daily life of Senegalese people, reflecting their culture of generosity and openness to others.
For the first time, the Youth Olympic Games will welcome a refugee Olympic team made up of athletes based in Africa. This reflects the unwavering commitment of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to supporting refugees and displaced people through sport at every level.
