Sports fans across Africa are set to enjoy greater access to live sporting action after SportyTV officially joined DStv and GOtv bouquets in Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana, significantly expanding affordable sports entertainment on the continent.
The 24/7 sports channel will broadcast approximately 750 live sporting events annually on DStv Access and GOtv Value, giving subscribers one of the most affordable options to watch premium live sports alongside entertainment, kids’ programming, and streaming content within a single package.
SportyTV brings together an exciting lineup of world-class football, basketball, and combat sports, complemented by round-the-clock sports news, expert analysis, highlights, and exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage. Its addition strengthens DStv and GOtv’s growing sports portfolio, offering fans even more viewing options beyond existing sports channels.
Speaking on the launch, David Mignot, CEO of CANAL+ Africa, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to making quality sports content accessible to more fans across the continent.
“SportyTV is a strong addition to the DStv Access and GOtv Value offering across Africa. Bringing new and exciting sporting events at an affordable price point reflects our commitment to ensuring more fans can enjoy quality sports content,” Mignot said.
Sudeep Ramnani, founder and CEO of Sporty Group, noted that the partnership marks a major step in expanding access to premium sports entertainment for African audiences.
“Our ambition has always been to deliver a truly global sports experience for African fans by combining live action, compelling storytelling, and unprecedented access to the world’s biggest clubs and competitions. Partnering with CANAL+ allows us to bring that vision to millions more households,” he said.
The channel will complement SuperSport’s extensive sports coverage, with Rendani Ramovha, CANAL+ director of sport content for English and Portuguese-speaking Africa, saying SportyTV adds even greater variety to the platform.
Football fans can look forward to major competitions including the English Premier League, Carabao Cup, EFL Championship, Women’s FA Cup, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A, and the Spanish Super Cup.
In a major boost for club football supporters, SportyTV will also feature dedicated club channels including Real Madrid TV, Arsenal TV, Chelsea TV, and Manchester City TV, offering exclusive access to four of the world’s biggest football brands.
Beyond Europe, viewers will enjoy top South American football competitions such as the Copa Libertadores, Argentina League, and Brazil Serie A, alongside additional coverage from the Saudi Pro League, Greek League, NBA basketball, and an expanding catalogue of international sports content.
Elias Gallego, VP of business development, marketing and media at Sporty Group, described the launch as a game-changer for sports accessibility across Africa.
“We are thrilled to launch SportyTV on DStv and GOtv and make watching sport more accessible than ever. Through this partnership, we can now reach millions of viewers and deliver exciting sporting moments from around the world,” he said.
For DStv Access subscribers, the addition means even greater value, with SportyTV providing a dedicated 24/7 sports channel featuring live events previously unavailable on the package.
SportyTV officially launched on 10 June 2026 and is now available in HD on DStv Channel 237 and GOtv Channel 58 in Kenya, giving sports lovers a fresh destination for year-round live action.
